During her trip to Beijing, Lam expressed that it paid off as officials of the central government expressed support for controlling the coronavirus in the city and promoting economic recovery.

At a press conference, Lam shared that the discussions mostly centered around curbing the pandemic, reviving the economy, and addressing social problems.
The central government welcomed his proposals, he said.

Officials also the support expressed by the competitiveness and integration of Hong Kong into the overall national development and technology innovation in the financial center of Asia, Lam said, adding that she could not reveal important details of their meetings.

During his three-day visit Beijing, Lam five senior officials of Hong Kong who accompanied him on the trip met with officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Civil Aviation Administration China Securities Regulatory Commission of China, the National Commission of Health and the National Development and Reform Commission.

David Wong Yau-kar, a businessman and member of Hong Kong to the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, the top legislature of the country, said he believes the main areas of future collaboration between the mainland and Hong Kong will be the financial services and technology, as reflected ed in the schedule of the chief executive.

With the support of the central government, he said, the two places can work together to remove obstacles and facilitate the flow of capital and personnel. Cooperation and development in various fields naturally surge, Wong said.

In addition to receiving support from the central government, Wong said Hong Kong must be more proactive in solving local problems, such as actually contained the pandemic city and solving local problems housing, so as to lay a solid foundation for these developments planning.

Law Cheung-Kwok, a senior adviser politics and Research Center Aviation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, said Hong Kong needs immediate support from the direction of the CAAC as industry aviation world was strongly affected by the pandemic.

If Hong Kong and the mainland can resume personnel exchanges, which will greatly enhance businesses in the aviation industry of the city and help maintain its strength, Law said.
He said there is a great demand for travel, family visits, business or academic between people of the two places.

In the long run, Hong Kong needs the support of the central government to consolidate its leadership role in aviation in the Greater Bay Area Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, where there are five airports, and to expand the flow of intermodal freight and passenger in the region, law added.

Lam was scheduled to travel to Guangzhou from Beijing on Friday, and stop in Shenzhen on Saturday, before returning to Hong Kong and working on his 2020 Policy, which she said would explain more details Hong Kong community.
