Self Introduction
I am an experienced English Language Instructor, looking for college or university positions in Southern China, Taiwan, South Korea, or Japan.
Instead of rehashing information that is available on my CV, I would like to take this opportunity to explain, and hopefully convince you, why I would make an excellent fit with your school.
As you will see in my resume, there are some gap years between my experiences as an educator. Those years were spent in the corporate world during the day, and completing a degree from home in the evenings. That time was fundamental in establishing who I am as an effective language instructor today. Completing a degree later in life has taught me to be constructively critical of myself, education, and my processes, which serves to help me improve my teaching. Living life in various types of business environments not listed in my resume, but these include Walmart Canada’s head office and a handful of startups I learned how to understand the motivations, personalities, and cultural perspectives of others, which is quintessential in working together to achieve common goals.
Combining these experiences with my years as an educator makes me an ideal candidate because of the respect and maturity that it brings to the role and the understanding that ESL teaching goes beyond the classroom and education.
