Making an app without coding skills is highly trending right now. But can these tools successfully build and deploy an app? We benchmarked 6 AI code editors across 10 real-world web development challenges. Each task required implementations such as backend, frontend authentication, state management. We evaluated backend correctness, frontend behavior, and combined performance and analyzed how each agent operates during execution.

#### Benchmark Results

- **Overall Score**: 75/100
- **Backend Score**: 71/100
- **Frontend Score**: 70/100
- **Combined Score**: 80/100 (Higher is better)

### Overall Evaluation

- **Cursor achieved the highest backend and combined score and tied with Kiro Code for perfect frontend performance**
- **Kiro Code ranked second overall with strong UI consistency**
- **Antigravity performed strongly on backend tasks and maintained solid frontend behavior**
- **Roo Code and .NET Codegen performed well on backend tasks, but struggled with frontend behavior**
- **Kite Code and Kiro Code scored 74/100 on combined performance, with Kiro Code achieving the highest backend score**

#### Introduction

In the ever-evolving world of web development, the struggle to balance the ease of use with the power of code is a constant challenge. The rise of AI tools has offered promising solutions, but with them, comes the task of evaluating their performance in real-world scenarios.

#### Conclusion

The benchmark results highlight the diverse capabilities of these AI code editors. While some excel in backend tasks, others shine in frontend development, and a few even perform well across both. As developers continue to navigate this landscape, it's crucial to consider their unique strengths and weaknesses in order to make an informed decision. Whether it's cursor's impressive performance in both areas or Antigravity's exceptional backend skills, these tools offer a valuable starting point for anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of coding.
