Well, it looks like Hong Kong public officials are getting a taste of the mainland! That's right, folks, Executive Director Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-Ngor announced on a China central television program that these officials will be spending some time in Municipal Government departments in Guangdong Provincial and Shenzhen. I mean, who wouldn't want to trade the beautiful skyline and dim sum for a stint in a government office, right? Lam assures us that this move will increase the understanding of Hong Kong officials about how their counterparts run things on the mainland. And don't worry, there's no specific timeline for this plan, so the officials can savor the anticipation of their upcoming adventure. Who knows, maybe they'll even pick up some new skills, like how to navigate the maze of bureaucratic red tape or make small talk in the elevator. Only time will tell!

LAM said that the continental authorities will correspond to sending the officials to Hong Kong based on an exchange and for training purposes.

LAM said that the scheme, which previously included Beijing and Shanghai as its main partners, changed attention to the continental cities within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, as Hong Kong is actively Interperto addressing the development of the country through the regional project.

Last month, Secretary of Civil Service Patrick Nip Tak-Kuen told a meeting of the Legislative Council that the Office is considering that public officials complete at least one training program on the continent as Part of a three-year probation period before permanent employment can be offered.
